Series: Sheep Studies
My sheep studies began on a farm on a Gulf Island in Canada. I noted how visually appealing the contrast of the woolly sheep were against the dark grass and vegetation. I didn’t anticipate how difficult they would be to photograph though. As I approached them, they ran away and I had to give chase. This resulted in the initial series being a montage of sheep bums. When I moved to England the British sheep seemed far more relaxed and through depicting them they became my symbol of the beloved British countryside.
